மருந்து எதிர்ப்புத் திறன் கொண்ட காசநோய்க்கான புதிய சிகிச்சை 2024

பல/விரிவான மருந்து-எதிர்ப்பு திறன் கொண்ட காசநோயாளிகளுக்கு BPaL (பெடா குலைன், ப்ரீடோமானிட் மற்றும் லைன்ஜோலிட்) என்ற மருந்து தொகுப்புகளை வழங்க இந்தியா தயாராகி வருகிறது. இந்தப் புதிய மருந்துத் தொகுப்புடன் M/XDR காசநோய்ப் பாதிப்பிற்கு மிகவும் எதிரான இந்தியாவின் போராட்டத்தில் இது ஒரு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க முன்னேற்றமாகும். இந்தச் சிகிச்சை முறையானது பாகிஸ்தான், தென்னாப்பிரிக்கா, உக்ரைன் போன்ற நாடுகளில் நல்ல விளைவுகளை வழங்கியுள்ளது. தற்போது, இந்தியாவில் MDR/RR-TB நோயாளிகளுக்கான சிகிச்சைகளின் பலனளிப்பு விகிதம் 56% ஆகவும், XDR-TB நோயாளிகளுக்கான சிகிச்சையின் பலனளிப்பு விகிதம் 48% ஆகவும் உள்ளது. 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டில், உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பானது BPaL (பெடாகுலைன், ப்ரீடோமானிட் மற்றும் லைன்ஜோலிட்) மற்றும் BPaLM (பெடாகுலைன், ப்ரீடோமானிட் மற்றும் லைன்ஜோலிட் + மாக்ஷிஃப்லாக்சின்) ஆகிய ஆறு மாத மருந்து தொகுப்பு சிகிச்சைமுறைகளை மருந்து-எதிர்ப்பு திறன் கொண்ட காசநோய்ப் பாதிப்பிற்கான சிகிச்சை விருப்பத் தேர்வுகளாக பரிந்துரைத்தது. இந்தியாவில் 2015 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 1.4 லட்சமாக இருந்த மருந்து எதிர்ப்பு திறன் கொண்ட காசநோய் பாதிப்பு ஆனது 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 21% குறைந்து 1.1 லட்சமாக உள்ளது.

New treatment for drug-resistant TB 2024

❖ India is getting ready to roll out BPaL (bedaquiline, pretomanid, and linezolid) regimen for all multi/extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis patients. ❖ This is a significant move in the country’s battle against M/XDR-TB with the new regime. ❖ It is indicating good results in such countries including Pakistan, South Africa, Ukraine, etc. ❖ Currently, India has a 56% treatment success rate for MDR/RR-TB cases, and 48% for XDR-TB cases. ❖ In 2022, WHO has recommended the six-month regimens BPaL (bedaquiline + pretomanid + linezolid) and BPaLM (BPaL + moxifloxacin) as treatment options for most forms of drug-resistant TB.  ❖ The estimated number of drug-resistant TB in India has been reduced by 21% from 1.4 lakh in 2015 to 1.1 lakh in 2022.

தமிழக முதல்வர் 'முதல்வர் மருந்தகம்' (முதலமைச்சரின் மருந்தகம்) திட்டத்தினை அறிவித்தார். இது இந்த மாநிலத்தில் மானிய விலையில் பொதுப் பெயர் கொண்ட மருந்துகளை குடிமக்களுக்கு வழங்குவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டது. 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டு பொங்கல் தினத்தில் இருந்து தமிழகத்தில் இது போன்று மொத்தம் 1,000 மருந்தகங்கள் இயக்கப்படும். Gallantry awards 2024

❖ A total of 1,037 police personnel was awarded Police Medals on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day. ❖ The list includes o One President’s Medal for Gallantry, o 213 Police Medals for Gallantry, o 94 President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service, ando 729 Police Medals for Meritorious Service. ❖ The President’s Medal for gallantry was given to Telangana Police Head Constable Chaduvu Yadaiah, who caught two chain snatchers despite being stabbed in 2022. ❖ Out of 213 Medal for Gallantry (GM), 208 GM have been awarded to Police Personnel, 31 personnel from J&K Police, 17 personnel each from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, 15 personnel from Chhattisgarh, 12 from Madhya Pradesh, seven personnel each from Jharkhand, Punjab and Telangana. ❖ Vannia Perumal K and Abhin Dinesh Modak from Tamil Nadu were awarded President’s Medals for Distinguished Service. ❖ Kannan N, Babu AG, Praveen Kumar Abhinapu and Feroze Khan Abdullah K from Tamil Nadu were awarded Medal for Meritorious Service.

Pradhan Mantri JI-VAN Yojana 2024

❖ The Union Cabinet approved amendments to the Pradhan Mantri JI-Van Yojana. ❖ This programme has focused on converting biomass to ethanol, by extending the project’s implementation timeline by five years. ❖ The modified scheme extends timeline for implementation of scheme by Five (5) year i.e. till 2028-29. ❖ It includes advanced biofuels produced from lignocellulosic feedstocks i.e. agricultural and forestry residues, industrial waste, synthesis (syn) gas, algae etc. in its scope.

Independence Day announcements 2024

❖ Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has announced the ‘Mudhalvar Marundhagam’ (Chief Minister’s Pharmacy) scheme. ❖ It is aimed at providing generic medicines to citizens at subsidised rates in the State. ❖ A total of 1,000 such pharmacies will be operational in Tamil Nadu from the day of Pongal 2025. ❖ He also announced the ‘Mudhalvarin Kaakkum Karangal’ programme. ❖ It extends loans to military personnel up to ₹1 crore to start a business. ❖ The aid would include 30 percent capital subsidy and 30 percent interest subsidy. ❖ CM had presented the ‘Thagaisal Thamizhar’ award to veteran Congress leader Kumari Ananthan. ❖ Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam award was presented to ISRO scientist P. Veeramuthuvel. ❖ Kalpana Chawla Award for Courage and Daring Enterprise was given to nurse A. Sabeena, who rescued people affected in the Wayanad landslides. ❖ The monthly pension for Freedom fighters will be increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 21,000. ❖ Martyrs' family pension will also be increased from Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 11,500.  ❖ The pension for the descendants of Kattabomman, VOC, and Maruthu brothers will be increased to Rs 10,500.
