மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான பாரீஸ் ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டி 2024 - பதக்கப் பட்டியல்

ஜூடோ வீரரான கபில் பர்மார் (மத்தியப் பிரதேசம்), மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டியில் ஜூடோ போட்டியில் இந்தியாவிற்கான முதல் பதக்கத்தை வென்று வரலாறு படைத்து உள்ளார். ஆடவருக்கான உயரம் தாண்டுதல் T64 இறுதிப் போட்டியில் பிரவீன் குமார் (உத்தரப் பிரதேசம்) 2.08 மீ உயரம் தாண்டி சாதனை படைத்து தங்கம் வென்றுள்ளார்.  ஆடவருக்கான குண்டெறிதல் F57 பிரிவில் இந்திய வீராங்கனை ஹொகாடோ ஹோடோஜெ செமா (நாகாலாந்து) வெண்கலப் பதக்கம் வென்றுள்ளார். சீனா (220), கிரேட் பிரிட்டன் (124), அமெரிக்கா (105), பிரேசில் மற்றும் உக்ரைன் ஆகிய நாடுகள் இப்பதக்கப் பட்டியலில் மொத்தப் பதக்கங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையில் முதல் 5 இடங்களைப் பிடித்துள்ளன. மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான பாரீஸ் ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டிகளில் இந்தியாவின் பதக்க எண்ணிக்கை ஏழு தங்கம், ஒன்பது வெள்ளி மற்றும் 13 வெண்கலம் உட்பட 29 ஆக நிறைவானது.  இது நாட்டிற்கு அதிக பதக்கங்களை பெற்றுத் தந்த போட்டி பங்கேற்பாக அமைந்தது. * இதில் தடகளப் போட்டிகளில் 17 பதக்கங்கள் பெறப்பட்டன, அவற்றில் நான்கு தங்கப் பதக்கங்கள் ஆகும். மாரியப்பன் தங்கவேலு (தமிழ்நாடு) மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டிகளில் தொடர்ந்து மூன்று முறை பதக்கம் வென்ற முதல் இந்தியர் என்ற ஒரு பெருமையினைப் பெற்றுள்ளார். 2016 ஆம் ஆண்டு மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான ரியோ ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டிகளில் தங்கப் பதக்கமும், 2020 ஆம் ஆண்டு மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான டோக்கியோ ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டிகளில் வெள்ளிப் பதக்கமும் வென்றார். 2024 பதக்கப் பட்டியலில் இந்தியா 18வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.

Paris Paralympics 2024 - Medal tally

ஆகஸ்ட் 30 ஆம் தேதியுடன் முடிவடைந்த வாரத்தில் இந்தியாவின் அந்நியச் செலாவணிக் கையிருப்பு ஆனது 2.3 பில்லியன் டாலர்கள் உயர்ந்து 683.99 பில்லியன் டாலராக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. இது அதிகபட்சமான டாலர் வரவினால் ஏற்பட்ட தொடர்ச்சியான மூன்றாவது வாராந்திர அந்நியச் செலாவணி கையிருப்பு உயர்வு ஆகும்.  கடந்த மூன்று வாரங்களில் கையிருப்பு ஆனது 13.9 பில்லியன் உயர்ந்துள்ளது. 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மட்டும் மொத்தமாக 60 பில்லியன் டாலர் அந்நியச் செலாவணி கையிருப்பு உயர்ந்துள்ளது. இந்த வாரத்தில் தங்க கையிருப்பு 862 மில்லியன் டாலர் அளவுக்கு அதிகரித்து, மொத்தமாக 61.859 பில்லியன் டாலராக உள்ளது.

Cyber Security Policy 2.0

❖ Cyber Security Policy 2.0 was recently released by the Tamil Nadu government. ❖ It superseded the Tamil Nadu Cyber Security Policy 2020 issued in September 2020. ❖ It lists out steps for ensuring the protection of assets of the government through guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for audit, compliance and monitoring of cyber threats and attacks. ❖ The policy aims to protect information assets of government (infrastructure, software, citizen services). ❖ This will maximize their availability to government and citizens and to create an institutional mechanism to monitor the established infrastructure.

23rd Law Commission of India

❖ The Centre has notified the constitution of the 23rd Law Commission. ❖ The term of the Commission will be for period of three years till 31st August 2027. ❖ The Commission will have a full-time chairperson and four full-time members including a member-secretary.  ❖ It will identify laws that have become obsolete and can be repealed, carry out audits of laws that affect the poor and give its views on any law. ❖ The 23rd Commission has been asked to examine the impact of globalisation on food security, unemployment and recommend measures for the protection of the interests of the marginalised. ❖ The chairperson and members could be serving judges of the Supreme Court or High Courts or “other category of persons”. ❖ Usually, the chairperson of the commission is a retired judge. ❖ The 22nd Law Commission was chaired by former Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi. ❖ The 22nd Law Commission’s term came to an end on August 31.
