❖ The National Legal Services Authority organised the 3rd National Lok Adalat of the year 2024 in the Taluks, Districts and High Courts of 27 States/UTs. ❖ Around 1,14,56,529 cases (One crore fourteen lakh fifty-six thousand five hundred twenty-nine) have been settled at the National Lok Adalat ❖ The approximate value of the total settlement amount in these cases was 8482.08 crores.

❖ To celebrate the rich cultural and economic heritage of Northeast India, the centre has launched the official website for the much-anticipated Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav. ❖ The Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav is to be held in December in New Delhi. ❖ The festival draws inspiration from the eight Northeastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura - collectively known as the "Ashtalakshmi".

❖ India has jumped to Tier 1 in the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) 2024, released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). ❖ The report placed 46 countries in Tier 1, the highest of the five tiers. ❖ This is reserved for “role modelling" countries that demonstrate a strong commitment in all five cybersecurity pillars. ❖ Most countries are either “establishing" (Tier 3) or “evolving" (Tier 4) in terms of cybersecurity. ❖ India has strong legal measures in place, like the Information Technology Act (2000) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill (2022).
