Periodic Labour Force Survey 2024

❖ The latest Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) was released by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MOSPI). ❖ Kerala recorded the highest unemployment rate among the 15-29 age group in urban areas for the January-March quarter of 2024. ❖ Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Odisha as other states with high unemployment rates in this age category. ❖ Three states and UTs recorded single-digit unemployment rates: Delhi (3.1 per cent), Gujarat (9 per cent), and Haryana (9.5 per cent).  ❖ Karnataka (11.5 per cent) and Madhya Pradesh (12.1 per cent) also had relatively low unemployment rates

பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட வாக்குகளின் முழுமையான எண்ணிக்கை

பொதுத் தேர்தலின் முதல் ஐந்து கட்டங்களில் ஒவ்வொரு தொகுதியிலும் பதிவான வாக்குகளின் முழுமையான எண்ணிக்கையை தேர்தல் ஆணையம் (EC) சமீபத்தில் வெளியிட்டது. இந்த மக்களவைத் தேர்தலில் பதிவான மொத்த வாக்குகளின் எண்ணிக்கையை தேர்தல் ஆணையம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும். முன்னதாக, வாக்குச்சாவடி வாரியான வாக்காளர்கள் எண்ணிக்கை குறித்த தகவல்களைக் கொண்ட 170 படிவத்தின் விவரங்களை வெளியிட தேர்தல் ஆணையத்திற்கு உத்தரவிட உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் மறுத்துவிட்டது. அசாமில் உள்ள துப்ரி தொகுதியில் அதிக வாக்குகள் (24.5 லட்சம்) பதிவானது. லட்சத்தீவில் குறைந்த வாக்குகள் (48,630) பதிவாகியுள்ளன. வாக்குப் பதிவு எண்ணிக்கை:  முதல் கட்டமாக 11,00,52,103 வாக்குகள் (மொத்த பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட வாக்காளர்கள்- 16,63,86,344) இரண்டாம் கட்டமாக 10,58,30,572 வாக்குகள் (மொத்த வாக்காளர்கள் 15,86,45,484), மூன்றாவது கட்டமாக 11,32,34,676 வாக்குகள் (மொத்த வாக்காளர்கள் 17,24,04,907), நான்காவது கட்டமாக 12,24,69,319 வாக்குகள் (மொத்த வாக்காளர்கள் 17,70,75,629), மற்றும் ஐந்தாம் கட்டமாக 5,57,10,618 வாக்குகளும் பதிவானது (மொத்த வாக்காளர்கள் 8,95,67,973).

Absolute number of votes cast

❖ The Election Commission (EC) released the absolute number of votes cast in each constituency in the first five phases of the general election. ❖ This is the first time that the EC has shared the total number of votes cast in this Lok Sabha election. ❖ Earlier, the Supreme Court refused to direct the poll body to disclose details of Form 17 C, which contains voter turnout data at the booth level. ❖ The highest number of votes were cast in Dhubri constituency in Assam (24.5 lakh). ❖ The least votes were polled in Lakshadweep (48,630) ❖ Voter turnout: o The first phase polled 11,00,52,103 votes (of a total 16,63,86,344 registered voters), o The second phase 10,58,30,572 votes (out of 15,86,45,484), o The third 11,32,34,676 (out of 17,24,04,907), o Fourth 12,24,69,319 (out of 17,70,75,629), and o Fifth phase recorded 5,57,10,618 votes (out of 8,95,67,973).

State and trends of carbon pricing 2024

❖ In 2023, carbon pricing revenues reached a record $104 billion, according to the World Bank’s annual “State and Trends of Carbon Pricing 2024” report. ❖ According to the 2024 report, 24% of global emissions are now covered. ❖ There are 75 carbon taxes and emissions trading schemes in operation worldwide.  ❖ Carbon pricing instruments cover around 24% of global emissions. ❖ Carbon taxes and emissions trading systems (ETSs) currently being considered could lift coverage to almost 30%. ❖ Large middle-income countries including Brazil, India, Chile, Colombia, and Türkiye are making strides in carbon pricing implementation.

Integrated theatre commands

State's rice yield 2024

❖ Tamil Nadu’s yield of rice, during 2023-24 for both the cultivation seasons of kharif and rabi, is lower than that of the national average. ❖ The yield for the year has been worked out to be 2.31 tonnes per hectare against the all-India average of 2.74 tonnes per hectare. ❖ This was a departure at least from the two previous years when the State’s figure was higher than that of all-India. ❖ The State works out yield or productivity with regard to paddy while the Central authorities does it for rice. ❖ As per the norms, 100 kg of paddy is expected to produce 67 kg of raw rice, or 68 kg in case of par-boiled rice.

மாநிலத்தின் அரிசி விளைச்சல் 2024

2023-24 ஆம் ஆண்டில் காரிஃப் மற்றும் ராபி ஆகிய இரு சாகுபடிப் பருவங்களில் தமிழகத்தின் நெல் விளைச்சல் ஆனது தேசிய சராசரியை விட குறைவாக உள்ளது. மாநிலத்தின் அந்த ஆண்டிற்கான மகசூல் ஆனது, ஹெக்டேருக்கு 2.31 டன்னாக உள்ள அதே சமயம் அகில இந்திய சராசரியானது ஹெக்டேருக்கு 2.74 டன்கள் ஆக உள்ளது.அகில இந்திய அளவில் தமிழக மாநிலத்தின் மகசூல் அளவானது முந்தைய இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளில் இருந்த அதிகபட்ச அளவை விட அதிகமாகும். மாநிலம் நெல் விளைச்சல் அல்லது உற்பத்தித் திறனையும், மத்திய ஆணையம் ஆனது அரிசி உற்பத்தியினையும் கணக்கில் எடுத்துக் கொள்கிறது. வரையறைகளின்படி, 100 கிலோ நெல்லில் 67 கிலோ அரிசி அல்லது 68 கிலோ புழுங்கல் அரிசி உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப் படுகிறது.
