Tamilnadu Awards to crafts persons and artisans 2024

❖ The Chief Minister handed over various awards to craftpersons and artisans, who have excelled in their respective fields. ❖ He had handed over ‘Living Craft Treasure’ awards to eight best craftpersons and handed over Poompuhar State Awards to 10 best artisans. ❖ N. Balakrishnan, K.P. Umapathi, S. Rajagopal, N. Mani Achari, C. Muthusamy Achari, S. Govindharaj, B. Sulaikan Beevi and S. Thangajothi received the ‘Living Craft Treasure’ awards for 2022-23 .❖ The ‘Living Craft Treasure Award’ honours craftspersons of eminence, who are over 65 years or age. ❖ The Poompuhar State Awards are given to C. Ravi, S. Nagalakshmi, M. Rajappa, M. Murugesan, R. Loganathan, N. Poovammal, B. Varadhan, M. Rajarathinam, R. Sakthivel and S. Lilly Mary for 2022-23. ❖ These awards are given to 10 best artisans in the field who have contributed to the development of the crafts of Tamil Nadu every year.

SDG Index 2024 – India

❖ Uttarakhand and Kerala have taken the top spot among states in NITI Aayog’s SDG India Index 2023-24. ❖ Overall, India’s SDG score improved to 71 points in 2023-24 from 66 points in 2020-21. ❖ Bihar emerged as a laggard with 57 points, followed by Jharkhand at 62 points. ❖ Compared to 2020-21 scores Punjab, Manipur, West Bengal, and Assam recorded the highest increase of 8 points to 76, 72, 70, and 65 points respectively. ❖ Among goals, “No Poverty”, “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, and “Life on Land” recorded the highest increase in points across states from 2020-21 scores .❖ Goals like “Gender Equality” and “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institution” saw the smallest increase in points. ❖ Notably, “Reduced Inequalities” was the only goal to record a reduction in points to 65 in 2022-23 from 67 in 2020-21.

Agri SURE நிதி

தேசிய வேளாண் மற்றும் ஊரக மேம்பாட்டு வங்கியானது, 750 கோடி ஆரம்பத் தொகையுடன் புத்தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் மற்றும் கிராமப்புறத் தொழில் துறைகளுக்கான (Agri-SURE) வேளாண் நிதியை உருவாக்க உள்ளதாக அறிவித்தது. தேசிய வேளாண் மற்றும் ஊரக மேம்பாட்டு வங்கி மற்றும் வேளாண் அமைச்சகம் ஆகியவை தலா 250 கோடி ரூபாயும், பிற அமைப்புகள் மீதமுள்ள 250 கோடி ரூபாயையும் தனது பங்காக வழங்குகின்றன. இந்த நிதியானது ஒவ்வொன்றிற்கும் 25 கோடி ரூபாய் வரையிலான முதலீடுகளுடன் சுமார் 85 வேளாண் சார் புத்தொழில் நிறுவனங்களை ஆதரிக்கும் வகையில் கட்டமைக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த நிதியானது துறை சார்ந்த, குறிப்பிட்ட துறை சாராத மற்றும் கடன் மாற்று முதலீட்டு நிதிகள் (AIF) ஆகியவற்றில் முதலீடு செய்தல் மூலமாகவும், நேரடிச் சமபங்கு நிதி மூலமாகவும் புத்தொழில் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு நிதியுதவி வழங்கும். தேசிய வேளாண் மற்றும் ஊரக மேம்பாட்டு வங்கியானது AgriSURE கிரீனத்தான் 2024 என்ற நிகழ்வினையும் தொடங்கியுள்ளது.இந்த ஹேக்கத்தான் நிகழ்வானது, மேம்பட்ட வேளாண் தொழில்நுட்பங்களின் அதிகப் படியான விலை, வேளாண் கழிவுகளை இலாபகரமானப் பொருட்களாக மாற்றுதல் மற்றும் மீளுருவாக்கம் மிக்க வேளாண்மையினைப் பொருளாதார ரீதியில் இலாப கரமானதாக மாற்றுதல் போன்றவற்றில் உள்ள பிரச்சனைகளுக்குத் தீர்வு காணும்.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள கழுகுகள் குறித்த ஆய்வு 2024

Preferred FPI Destinations for India

❖ Mauritius has now slipped to the fifth position, behind Ireland, in terms of assets under custody. ❖ Mauritius is one among the leading destinations for foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) routing funds into India . ❖ Ireland has registered a 26 per cent surge in AUC for FPIs in the first half of the calendar year.  ❖ Overall, more than 780 FPIs are registered in Ireland compared to 595 in Mauritius. ❖ In March, the governments of Mauritius and India signed a deal to amend the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA).

Agri SURE fund

❖ NABARD has announced an Agri fund for Start-Ups & Rural Enterprises (AgriSURE), with initial corpus of ₹750 crore. ❖ NABARD and the Ministry of Agriculture are contributing ₹250 crore each, the rest ₹250 crore is from other institutions. ❖ The fund is structured to support about 85 agri start-ups with investment sizes of up to ₹25 crore each by the end of its term. ❖ The fund will provide support through investments in sector-specific, sectoragnostic, and debt alternative investment funds (AIFs), as well as direct equity support to start-ups. ❖ NABARD has also launched the AgriSURE Greenathon 2024. ❖ This hackathon will address the issues like the high cost of advanced agriculture technologies, transforming agricultural waste into profitable ventures, and making regenerative agriculture economically viable

Vulture Study in Tamil Nadu 2024

❖ A study on the awareness of vulture conservation across the species’ key habitats in Mudumalai (MTR) and Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserves (STR) conducted recently. ❖ The communities living in the region have yet to fully realise “vulture-safe” practices in raising livestock and the importance of the birds to the region. ❖ Three of the four species – the white-rumped vulture, the long-billed vulture and the Asian king vulture, are resident to the landscape and are known to nest and breed within the two reserves. ❖ The Egyptian vulture is believed to be a migratory species. ❖ The availability of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) are harmful to vultures.  ❖ Other NSAIDs harmful to the vultures such as Ketoprofen, Aceclofenac and Nimesulide were still available in these veterinary pharmacies.

மேல் மட்ட சியாங் நதி நீர்மின் ஆற்றல் உற்பத்தி நிலையமானது, அருணாச்சலப் பிரதேசத்தின் மேல் மட்ட சியாங் மாவட்டத்தில் சியாங் நதியின் மீது அமைக்கப்பட உள்ள 11,000 மெகாவாட் திறன் கொண்ட நீர்மின் ஆற்றல் உற்பத்தி நிலையமாகும். திபெத்தில் உள்ள கைலாஷ் மலைக்கு அருகில் சியாங் நதி உருவாகிறது என்ற நிலையில் அங்கு இது சாங்போ என்ற பெயரில் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. சியாங் நதிப் படுகையில் மொத்தம் 29 நீர்மின் ஆற்றல் உற்பத்தி நிலையங்கள் (25 மெகா வாட்டிற்கும் மேலான நிறுவப்பட்ட திறன் கொண்டவை) உள்ள நிலையில் இவற்றின் ஒருங்கிணைந்த நிறுவல் திறன் 18,326 மெகாவாட் ஆகும். தற்போது முன்மொழியப்பட்ட மேல் மட்ட சியாங் நதி நீர்மின் ஆற்றல் உற்பத்தி நிலையத்தின் நிறுவப்பட்ட திறனானது இந்த மதிப்பில் தோராயமாக 60% பங்கினைக் கொண்டிருக்கும். இது அதி பழங்குடியினத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மக்கள் வாழும் சுமார் 300க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கிராமங்களை மூழ்கடிக்கும் என்று சுற்றுச்சூழல் ஆர்வலர்கள் வருத்தம் தெரிவித்து உள்ளனர்.
