நிதி ஆயோக் அமைப்பின் மறுசீரமைப்பு 2024

மத்திய அரசானது நிதி ஆயோக் அமைப்பை, நான்கு முழுநேர உறுப்பினர்கள் மற்றும்15 மத்திய அமைச்சர்களை, பதவி வழி உறுப்பினர்கள் அல்லது சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளர்களாகக் கொண்டு மறுசீரமைத்துள்ளது. பிரதமர் அதன் தலைவராகவும், பொருளாதார நிபுணர் சுமன் K. பெரி துணைத் தலைவராகவும் தொடர்ந்து பதவி வகிப்பர். அறிவியலாளர் V.K. சரஸ்வத், வேளாண் பொருளாதார நிபுணர் ரமேஷ் சந்த், குழந்தைகள் நல மருத்துவர் V.K. பால் மற்றும் பொருளாதார நிபுணர் அரவிந்த் விர்மானி ஆகியோரும் தொடர்ந்து முழு நேர உறுப்பினர்களாகப் பதவி வகிப்பர். நான்கு பதவி வழி உறுப்பினர்களாக மத்தியப் பாதுகாப்பு, உள்துறை, வேளாண்மை மற்றும் நிதி அமைச்சர்கள் பதவி வகிப்பர். இந்தியாவை மாற்றியமைப்பதற்கான தேசிய அமைப்பு எனும் 'நிதி ஆயோக்' அமைப்பு 2015 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 65 ஆண்டுகள் பழமையான திட்டக் குழுவிற்குப் பதிலாக உருவாக்கப் பட்டது.

Tizu and Zungki River - Nagaland

❖ The Union shipping ministry has decided to carry out feasibility studies to use the National Waterways-101 on the Tizu Zunki River for the transportation of cargo and passengers . ❖ Tizu-Zungki is an important waterway starting from Kiphire district of Nagaland and ending in Chindwin. ❖ In Nagaland, the NW 101 flows from Longmatra (Nagaland) towards Avangkhu.  ❖ Nagaland has four main rivers, namely, Doyang, Dhansiri, Dhiku and Tizu. ❖ The main tributaries of the River Tizu are river Zungki, Lanye, and Likimro.

LOw-Frequency Array

NITI Aayog reconstitution 2024

❖ Union government reconstituted the NITI Aayog, with four full-time members and 15 Union Ministers, as either ex-officio members or special invitees.  ❖ Prime Minister remains the chairperson and economist Suman K. Bery will continue to be the vice-chairperson of NITI Aayog . ❖ Scientist V.K. Saraswat, agricultural economist Ramesh Chand, paediatrician V.K. Paul and macro-economist Arvind Virmani will also continue to be full-time members. ❖ The four ex-officio members will be the Union Ministers of Defence, Home, Agriculture and Finance. ❖ The National Institution for Transforming India, known as ‘NITI Aayog’, was constituted in 2015 by scraping the 65-year-old Planning Commission.

மூளை மின்னலை வரைவு நுட்பத்தின் 100 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவு (EEG)

மனித மூளை பற்றிய தகவல்களை அறிய உதவுகிற EEG (மூளை மின்னலை வரைவு) என்பது இயற்பியல் மற்றும் நரம்பணுவியலின் ஒரு சிறந்த அம்சமாகும். 1875 ஆம் ஆண்டில், பிரிட்டிஷ் மருத்துவர் ரிச்சர்ட் கேட்டன் குரங்குகள் மற்றும் முயல்களின் மூளையில் மின்சாரம் செயல்படுவதற்கான பல்வேறு ஆதாரங்களை வெளியிட்டார். 1912 ஆம் ஆண்டில், விளாடிமிர் பிராவ்டிச்-நெமின்ஸ்கி ஒரு நாயின் மூளையின் மூளை மின்னலை வரைவினை எடுத்ததன் மூலம் பாலூட்டி இனத்தில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு EEG வரைவினை உருவாக்கினார். அவருக்குப் பிறகு 1924 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஹான்ஸ் பெர்கர் என்பவர் மனிதர்களில் இந்த வரைவினை எடுத்தார். EEG என்பது மூளை மின்னலை வரைவினைக் குறிக்கிறது என்ற நிலையில் இதில் 'எலக்ட்ரோ' என்பது மின்சாரம் தொடர்பானது. EEG ஆனது மூளையில் நியூரான்களால் உருவாகும் மின்னியல் செயல்பாட்டை அளவிடுகிறது. மூளையில் விரைவான மின் செயல்பாட்டை மில்லி விநாடிகளின் அளவில் கண்காணிப்பதில் மற்ற கண்டறியும் சாதனங்களை விட இது சிறந்ததாக உள்ளது.

சண்டிபுரா வைரஸ்

குஜராத்தின் ஆரவல்லி மாவட்டத்தில் 6 குழந்தைகள் சண்டிபுரா வைரஸால் உயிர் இழந்திருக்கலாம் என சந்தேகிக்கப் படுகிறது. சண்டிபுரா வெசிகுலோவைரஸ் (CHPV) எனப்படும் சண்டிபுரா வைரஸ், ராப்டோவிரிடே குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஆர்என்ஏ வைரஸ் ஆகும். இது முதன்முதலில் 1965 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மகாராஷ்டிராவில் உள்ள சண்டிபுரா என்ற கிராமத்தில் கண்டறியப் பட்டது. இந்த வைரஸ் முதன்மையாக குழந்தைகளைப் பாதிக்கிறது மற்றும் இந்தியாவில் கடுமையான மூளையழற்சிப் பாதிப்புகளுடன் தொடர்புடையதாகும்.இந்த வைரஸ் முதன்மையாக பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மணல் ஈக்கள் (பிளெபோடோமஸ் வகை) கடிப்பதன் மூலம் பரவுகிறது. சண்டிபுரா வைரஸ் தொற்றுக்கு என்று குறிப்பிட்ட வைரஸ் தடுப்பு சிகிச்சை அல்லது தடுப்பூசி எதுவும் இல்லை.

நிலையான மேம்பாட்டு இலக்குக் குறியீட்டில் தமிழ்நாட்டின் செயல்திறன் 2023-24

2023-24 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்தியாவின் நிலையான மேம்பாட்டு இலக்கு நிவர்த்திக் குறியீடானது 70 இலக்குகள் மற்றும் 113 குறிகாட்டிகளின் அடிப்படையில் இலக்குகளை அடைவதில் மாநிலங்கள் மற்றும் ஒன்றியப் பிரதேசங்களின் நிர்வாகச் செயல்திறனை பகுப்பாய்வு செய்துள்ளது.தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலமானது 78 என்ற கூட்டு மதிப்பெண்களுடன், 71 என்ற தேசிய சராசரியினை விஞ்சி மூன்றாவது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் 13 நிலையான மேம்பாட்டு இலக்குகளில் (SDGs) தமிழ்நாடு 'முன்னணி மாநிலமாக வகைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த அறிக்கையானது மாநிலங்களின் மதிப்பெண்களின் அடிப்படையில் அவற்றின் செயல்திறன்களை 'இலட்சியமிகு மாநிலம்' (0-49), 'நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ளும் மாநிலம்' (50-64), 'முன்னணியில் உள்ள மாநிலம்' (65-99) மற்றும் 'சாதனை மாநிலம்' (100) என வகைப்படுத்துகிறது. தமிழ்நாடு மாநில அரசானது தனது முன்னணி இடத்தைத் தக்க வைத்துக் கொண்டு உள்ளது. 2020-21 ஆம் ஆண்டில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட முந்தைய அறிக்கையில் தமிழகத்தின் கூட்டு மதிப்பெண் 74 ஆக இருந்தது. மற்ற மாநிலங்கள் மற்றும் ஒன்றியப் பிரதேசங்களுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில், வறுமை ஒழிப்பு இலக்கில் தமிழ்நாடு முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது. பல்பரிமாண வறுமைக் குறியீட்டின்படி, 14.96% என்ற தேசிய சராசரிக்கு எதிராக நமது மாநிலத்தின் செயல்திறன் 2,2% ஆக உள்ளது. மாநிலத்தில் ஐந்து வயதிற்குட்பட்ட குழந்தைகளில் 22% மற்றும் 25% பேர் முறையே எடை குறைவாகவும் வளர்ச்சி குன்றியவர்களாகவும் இருப்பதாக அறிக்கை கூறுகிறது.ஒரு லட்சம் பிறப்புகளுக்கான பேறு காலத் தாய்மார்கள் இறப்பு விகிதம் மற்றும் 1,000 பிறப்புகளுக்கான ஐந்து வயதிற்குட்பட்ட குழந்தைகளின் இறப்பு விகிதம் ஆகியவை முறையே 54 மற்றும் 13 ஆக உள்ளது. சாலை விபத்துகளில் உயிரிழப்பவர்களின் விகிதம் ஆனது ஒரு லட்சம் மக்கள் தொகைக்கு 23.31 ஆக உள்ளது என்ற நிலையில் இது நாட்டிலேயே மிக அதிகமாகும். உயர்நிலை மற்றும் உயர்கல்வியில் மாணவர்களின் மொத்தச் சேர்க்கை விகிதமானது முறையே 81.5% மற்றும் 47% ஆக உள்ளது. இதன் தேசிய சராசரி 57.6% மற்றும் 28.4% ஆகும். மேலும், தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள 81.87% கிராமப்புறக் குடும்பங்கள் பாதுகாப்பான மற்றும் போதுமான குடிநீர் குழாய் இணைப்பு வசதியினைப் பெற்றுள்ளன. நமது மாநிலத்தில் 15-59 வயதிற்குட்பட்டோர் மத்தியில் நிலவும் வேலைவாய்ப்பின்மை விகிதம் மற்றும் தொழிலாளர் பங்கேற்பு விகிதம் ஆகியவை முறையே 4.8% மற்றும் 62.3% ஆக உள்ளது. சுமார் 92.8% குடும்பங்கள் குறைந்தபட்சம் ஒரு கைபேசியாவது வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். ஆதார் மூலம் உள்ளடக்கப்பட்ட மக்கள் தொகையின் சதவீதம் 97.94 ஆகும். 7.2% ஆக இருந்த இந்த மாநிலத்தின் வேலைவாய்ப்பின்மை விகிதம் ஆனது 4.8% ஆக குறைந்துள்ளது.

100 years of electroencephalography (EEG)

❖ The EEG is a marvel of physics and neurobiology that opens a simple window into the human brain. ❖ In 1875, British physician Richard Caton reported evidence of electrical activity in the brains of monkeys and rabbits. ❖ In 1912, Vladimir Pravdich-Neminsky produced the first mammalian EEG, of a dog’s brain. ❖ Hans Berger succeeded him in 1924 with the human counterpart. ❖ EEG stands for electroencephalography. ‘Electro-’ pertains to electricity. ❖ EEG measures electrical activity in the brain generated by neurons . ❖ It is better than other diagnostic devices at tracking relatively rapid electrical activity in the brain, in the order of milliseconds.

Chandipura virus

❖ Six children in Gujarat's Aravalli district are suspected to have died from the Chandipura virus . ❖ Chandipura virus, aka Chandipura vesiculovirus (CHPV), is an RNA virus belonging to the Rhabdoviridae family . ❖ It was first identified in 1965 in Chandipura, a village in Maharashtra. ❖ The virus primarily affects children and has been associated with outbreaks of acute encephalitis in India .❖ The virus is primarily transmitted through the bite of infected sandflies (genus Phlebotomus) . ❖ There is no specific antiviral treatment or vaccine for Chandipura virus infection.

Performance of Tamilnadu in SDG Index 2023-24

❖ SDG India Index 2023-24 has analysed the performance of States and Union Territories in achieving the goals on the basis of 70 targets and 113 indicators. ❖ Tamil Nadu stands third with a composite score of 78, surpassing national average of 71 .❖ Tamil Nadu has been classified a ‘front runner’ in 13 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. ❖ The report categorises the performance of the States based on their scores as ‘aspirant’ (0-49), ‘performer’ (50-64), ‘front runner’ (65-99), and ‘achiever’ (100). ❖ Tamil Nadu took the third spot with a composite score of 78, surpassing the national average of 71 . ❖ The State also retained its position as a front runner. ❖ The composite score of Tamil Nadu was 74 in the previous report released in 2020-21. ❖ Tamil Nadu tops in the goal of eradicating poverty, compared with the other States and the Union Territories . ❖ According to the Multidimensional Poverty Index, Tamilnadu stands at 2.2%, as against the national average of 14.96%. ❖ The report says 22% and 25% of the children aged below five in the State are underweight and stunted respectively. ❖ The Maternal Mortality Ratio for one lakh live births and Under-five Mortality Rate for 1,000 live births stood at 54 and 13 respectively. ❖ The rate of deaths in road accidents per one-lakh population was 23.31, one of the highest in the country. ❖ The gross enrolment ratio of students in higher secondary and higher education was 81.5% and 47% respectively, ❖ The national average of the same is 57.6% and 28.4%. ❖ Further, 81.87% of the rural households in Tamil Nadu are getting safe and adequate piped drinking water. ❖ The unemployment rate and labour force participation rate in the State in the age group of 15-59 were 4.8% and 62.3% respectively. ❖ Nearly 92.8% of the households own at least one mobile phone. ❖ The percentage of the population covered by Aadhaar is 97.94. ❖ The unemployment rate has come down from 7.2% to 4.8%
