❖ President Droupadi Murmu is traveling to Algeria, Mauritania and Malawi.

❖ This is the first-ever visit by an Indian head of state to the three African countries.

❖ During the visit to the Sidi Abdellah Science and Technology Pole, a hub of universities, she received an honorary doctorate.

❖ She has also inaugurated an India Corner at Hamma Garden at Jardin d’essai, Algeria.

❖ Murmu’s visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Malawi.
