❖ South India’s first and the country’s largest leopard safari was inaugurated by at the Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP).

❖ Currently eight leopards have been released for the safari in the open forest area.

❖ BBP was carved out of Bannerghatta National Park in 2004 and brought under the administration of the Zoo Authority of Karnataka.

❖ It comprises several units including the zoo, safari, butterfly park, and rescue center.
