❖ Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has announced the ‘Mudhalvar Marundhagam’ (Chief Minister’s Pharmacy) scheme.
❖ It is aimed at providing generic medicines to citizens at subsidised rates in the State.
❖ A total of 1,000 such pharmacies will be operational in Tamil Nadu from the day of Pongal 2025.
❖ He also announced the ‘Mudhalvarin Kaakkum Karangal’ programme.
❖ It extends loans to military personnel up to ₹1 crore to start a business.
❖ The aid would include 30 percent capital subsidy and 30 percent interest subsidy.
❖ CM had presented the ‘Thagaisal Thamizhar’ award to veteran Congress leader Kumari Ananthan.
❖ Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam award was presented to ISRO scientist P. Veeramuthuvel.
❖ Kalpana Chawla Award for Courage and Daring Enterprise was given to nurse A. Sabeena, who rescued people affected in the Wayanad landslides.
❖ The monthly pension for Freedom fighters will be increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 21,000.
❖ Martyrs' family pension will also be increased from Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 11,500.
❖ The pension for the descendants of Kattabomman, VOC, and Maruthu brothers will be increased to Rs 10,500.
