❖ India holds the 39th position in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024
❖ The country now ranked first among the 38 lower-middle-income economies.
❖ The index evaluates the innovation performance of around 133 global economies.
❖ It was 81st position in 2015.
❖ India has also secured the 4th position in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Science and Technology (S&T) Cluster Ranking.
❖ China reached the 11th position and remains the only middle-income economy in the top 30.
❖ Switzerland, Sweden, the United States, Singapore, and the United Kingdom are the top rankers.
