❖ Co-districts is a pioneering initiative by the Assam government within the existing districts.

❖ They rolled out 39 co-districts in the first phase.

❖ It aims to ensure timely access to essential govt services and streamline citizen-centric services by bringing governance to the grassroots.

❖ These ‘co-districts’ will serve as smaller administrative units below the districts led by an officer of the rank of Assistant District Commissioner.
