Human-Made Meteor Shower

❖ Debris from a two-year-old Nasa mission could be the cause of first man-made meteor shower. ❖ Nasa's Double Asteroids Redirect Test (DART) mission, intentionally collided with the moonlet Dimorphos in September 2022. ❖ It may result in this unique phenomenon. ❖ The mission is aimed to test asteroid deflection technology. ❖ Scientists now believe the impact produced over 2 million pounds of debris that could create meteor showers around Earth and Mars within 10 to 30 years. ❖ Due to the collision, fragments from Dimorphos could intermittently and periodically arrive at Earth and Mars for at least 100 years. ❖ The debris is traveling at 1,118 miles per hour could reach Mars. ❖ The smaller and faster particles moving at 3,579 miles per hour could reach Earth in under 10 years.

Mission Mausam

❖ The Union Cabinet has approved ‘Mission Mausam’ with an outlay of ₹2,000 crore over two years. ❖ The aim of the programme will be to bolster the research and development, and capacity in atmospheric sciences, weather surveillance, modelling, forecasting, and management. ❖ The following Three institutes of the Ministry of Earth Sciences will primarily implement Mission Mausam. o The India Meteorological Department, o The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, and o The National Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting.

❖ The survey ranks 89 countries on the basis of their global perception using 10 differentially weighted sub-rankings. ❖ Switzerland is ranked higher on metrics of quality of life and openness to business, its lowest ranking was in the field of heritage. ❖ This is the seventh time the Central European nation of Switzerland has ranked first in the survey. ❖ European countries are making up the majority of the top 25. ❖ Switzerland is followed by Japan, the United States of America, Canada and Australia. ❖ India is ranked at number 33 on the list this year, dropping three spots from its place on the list in 2023. ❖ Only Japan, Singapore, China and South Korea have managed to crack the top 25 from Asia.

PM E- DRIVE திட்டம்.

மத்திய அமைச்சரவையானது, "பிரதான் மந்திரி - மின்சாரப் பேருந்து சேவை கட்டணக் காப்பீட்டு செயல்முறை (PSM) திட்டம்" மற்றும் "புத்தாக்கம் மிக்க வாகன மேம்பாட்டில் பிரதான் மந்திரி மின்சார வாகன இயக்கங்களுக்கான புரட்சி (PM E-DRIVE) திட்டத்திற்கு" ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது. 2024-25 ஆம் நிதியாண்டு முதல் 2028-29 ஆம் நிதியாண்டு வரை 38,000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மின்சாரப் பேருந்துகளை இயக்கச் செய்வதற்கு தேவையான ஆதரவினை PSM திட்டம் வழங்கும். PM E-Drive திட்டத்தின் கீழ் மின்சார இரு சக்கர வாகனங்கள், மின்சார மூன்று சக்கர வாகனங்கள், மின்சார அவசர மருத்துவச் சேவை ஊர்திகள், மின்சாரச் சரக்குந்துகள் மற்றும் பிற அதிகரித்து வரும் பல்வேறு மின்சார வாகனங்கள் (EVs) ஆகியவற்றினை வாங்குவதற்கு 3,679 கோடி ரூபாய் மானியமாக வழங்கப்படும். கனரகத் தொழில்துறை அமைச்சகம் ஆனது, இந்தத் திட்டத்தினைச் செயல்படுத்தி, வாங்குபவர்களுக்கு மானியம் மற்றும் உற்பத்தியாளர் மின்னணுப் பற்றுச் சீட்டுகள் ஆகியவற்றை ஒரு பிரத்தியேக இணைய தளம் மூலம் வழங்கும்.

PM E-Drive scheme

❖ The Union Cabinet has approved “PM-eBus Sewa-Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) scheme” and "PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme". ❖ PSM scheme will support the deployment of more than 38,000 electric buses (eBuses) from FY 2024-25 to FY 2028-29. ❖ ₹3,679 crore will be provided as subsidies for purchasing e-two wheelers, e-three wheelers, e-ambulances, e-trucks, and other emerging electric vehicles (EVs) under the PM E-Drive scheme. ❖ The heavy industries ministry will implement the scheme and provide subsidies to both the buyer and manufacturer e-vouchers through a dedicated portal.

மத்தியக் கல்வி அமைச்சகமானது, சமீபத்தில் தேசிய கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள் தரவரிசை கட்டமைப்பு (NIRF) அறிக்கையினை வெளியிட்டது. நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள 926 கல்லூரிகளில் 165 கல்லூரிகள் தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளன. பேராசிரியர் அன்பழகன் பள்ளி மேம்பாட்டுத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், 614 அரசுப் பள்ளிகளில் உள்கட்டமைப்பு வசதிகளை உறுதி செய்வதற்கான முயற்சிகள் ஆனது 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் மொத்தம் 1,086 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் மேற்கொள்ளப் பட்டன. அரசுப் பள்ளிகளில் மொத்தம் 394 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் 8,200 உயர் தொழில்நுட்ப ஆய்வகங்கள் அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. 2021-22 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல், தமிழ்நாடு முழுவதும் 28,700 அரசு மற்றும் அரசு உதவி பெறும் பள்ளிகளில் திறன் மிகு வசதிகள் கொண்ட வகுப்பறைகள் நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ளன. முதலமைச்சரின் காலை உணவுத் திட்டத்தினால் சுமார் 20 லட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட குழந்தைகள் பயனடைந்துள்ளனர்.

Achievements of the School Education Department

❖ The National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) report was released recently by Union Ministry for Education. ❖ Tamil Nadu housed 165 of the 926 colleges across the country. ❖ Under the Perasiriyar Anbazhagan School Development Scheme, efforts towards ensuring infrastructure facilities in 614 government schools was taken up since 2022 at a total cost of ₹1,086 crore. ❖ Over 8,200 high-tech labs were being set up in State-run schools at a total cost of ₹394 crore. ❖ Since 2021-22, smart classrooms were established in over 28,700 governmentrun and State-aided schools across Tamil Nadu. ❖ Over 20 lakh children benefited from the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme.
